Observing

The work uses layers of circular outlines and changes in folds to design the process of human cognition of the world. The nested structure of concentric circles makes the work present an aesthetic feeling of continuous expansion or contraction, and the overall work reflects a comfortable sense of flow. The combination of gold and diamonds creates a rich and colorful picture and a texture of contrasting layers. The two texture treatments on the metal deepen the layering and spatial extension of the work, reflecting good craftsmanship.

Ataraxia

Combining with fashion and advanced technology, the project aims to create jewelry pieces which can make the old Gothic elements into a new style, discussing the potential of the traditional in the contemporary context. With the interest in the way how Gothic vibes influences audience, the project also tries to provoke unique individual experience through playful interaction, exploring the relationship between design and wearers. Synthetic gemstones, as a lower eco-imprint material, were cut into unusually flat surfaces to cast their colors onto the skin to enhance the interaction.

The Venation

The Venation is a jewelry collection inspired by the growth patterns of plants. The collection includes earrings and a brooch with irregular outlines and a dense central structure that suggest the texture of natural growth. Streamlined undulations create organic forms and give the pieces a sense of extension. Each piece is designed and printed with 3D technology, then set with diamonds in 9-karat gold. The hollow structure relates the forms to the human body. The diamonds follow the outlines and reflect light along the twisting lines.

Biroi

Biroi is a 3D printed jewelry series that is inspired by the legendary phoenix of the sky, who throws itself into the flames and reborn from its own ashes. Dynamic lines forming the structure and the Voronoi pattern spread on the surface symbolize the phoenix that revives from the burning flames and flies into the sky. Pattern changes size to flow over the surface giving a sense of dynamism to the structure. The design, which shows off a sculpture-like presence by itself, gives the wearer the courage to take a step forward by drawing out their uniqueness.

Hong Kong Skyline

Hong Kong Skyline is a jewelry collection inspired by the view of Victoria Harbour. The collection includes pendants, earrings and brooches that show the silhouette of the signature buildings of Hong Kong. Each piece is made of 925 sterling silver with hand-set round crystals, and pieces can also be produced in 18K white or yellow gold with diamonds. A die cutting method creates the fine detail of the skyline at a small scale. The earrings open so that the building forms align in a straight line. The collection is intended as both contemporary jewelry and a souvenir.

Chiaroscuro

Chiaroscuro is a jewelry collection built from a single link form repeated in many variations. The links are 3D printed in ABS thermoplastic polymer already connected, which gives the pieces light weight and free movement. Selected links are cast in sterling silver, using rubber moulds and waxes taken from the prints. Natural dye and applied crystals add colour and texture on the front and the back, so the earrings can be viewed from all angles. Computer-aided design is joined with traditional silversmith techniques, so every piece begins from the same form yet ends as unique.

Fusion

Fusion is a jewelry collection made of silver, formed by a ring and a necklace. An algorithm generates a Voronoi skeleton, used as a metaphor for the organic connection of forms. The shapes blend features such as the spreading wings of butterflies and the opening of buds. Different viewing angles reveal different biomorphic features. Both pieces are modular, so they can be combined with other accessories and worn in several ways. The collection is 3D modelled, 3D printed and cast in silver with the lost wax method.

Geometry of Fiction

Geometry of Fiction is a silver jewelry collection of three rings. The forms were inspired by the architecture of the historic Golshan Bathhouse in Yazd, Iran. An experimental method was used: primary shapes such as cubes and cylinders were combined in three-dimensional software with the reversed geometry of the bathhouse, producing more than 250 new forms. A few forms were then selected for the rings. The pieces were modeled digitally, printed in resin and cast in silver. The three rings can be worn as a set, in pairs or alone.

Baobab Tree

Baobab Tree is a jewelry collection in silver that includes a ring, a long station necklace and a bracelet. The main motif is based on the Flower of Life, a geometric pattern of overlapping circles. The pattern is transformed into rounded petals, so the ring shows a large organic flower when worn on the finger. Seen from the side, the same ring forms the image of a baobab tree, also known as the Tree of Life. The motifs were drawn with 3D CAD and then produced by hand with wax modeling and traditional metal craft techniques.
